"Luxury Brands Don't Sell Products, They Sell Dreams." - Uwe Ellinghaus

People don’t buy products or services. People buy the emotion that the product or service will give them. They buy the way the product will make them feel, and if you sell luxury goods then you have to do more than just convince consumers that your product or service is the best. You have to sell consumers on the notion that your product will make them FEEL luxurious.

This is not to say that your product does not have to be of good quality, because it absolutely does. Your product still has to speak for itself, but emotion plus quality is a powerful combination that sells and keeps consumers coming back.

So how do you evoke emotion that makes your potential customers want to buy? How do you foreshadow emotion? You do it with your brand story, you do it with your content, and you do it with your overall aesthetic. Need help? Branding Babe’s got you covered because aesthetic is pretty much our thing. 😉

5 Ways to Keep Yourself Motivated When You Want to Give Up on Your Business.
Digital Marketing Agency Dallas Branding Babe (2).png

Entrepreneurship is NOT EASY! And you are not alone when you find yourself just wanting to throw your hands in the air and give up from time to time. Creating and running a successful business is not for the faint at heart. It takes passion, it takes persistence, and it takes perseverance but it can be done and moreover than that it can be done by YOU.

Here are five tips to get you past the wall you may be facing..

  1. Remember why you started. What were the reasons that you created your business to begin with? More than likely it had something to do with wanting financial freedom, a flexible schedule, to be your own boss, and because you are absolutely passionate about what it is that you do and the problem that your brand/ business solves. When things get rough take a moment to remember those reasons.

  2. See the end from the beginning. There is a lot to be said about visualization. It may sound “woo woo” but imagining the end result is a powerful tool that you can use not only to keep yourself motivated, but you can also anticipate (and avoid) certain bumps and blocks when you reverse engineer your plans.

  3. Organize. Life just feels better when you are organized and clear. Something as simple as a monthly planner can literally change your life. When you are able to take a step back and see your day/ week/ month you are able to operate from a higher perspective and seize any and every task that may lie in front of you.

  4. Outsource. Entrepreneurs are more often than not control freaks. It’s a blanket statement, I know, but let’s be honest if you were not a bit of a control freak you would not be an entrepreneur. We want to be in control of “our baby”. We have a vision and want to see it carried out perfectly. But trying to do everything yourself is the #1 way to burn yourself out. Start by outsourcing the tasks that are not your strong points, like digital marketing :)

  5. Persistence. Ask any successful entrepreneur, entertainer, CEO, or just anyone who has ever had a dream about what it took to accomplish it. They are sure to tell you that it took persistence and most likely a lot of it. When we look on television or social media we see the highlights of everyone’s journey and that can be a great way to motivate yourself to keep going in order to accomplish what they have. But another motivator would be to learn about their lives before they made it and find out the not-so-glamorous steps they had to go through. Remind yourself that the time is guaranteed to pass anyways so you may as well spend it chasing your dreams until step by step, day by day, you reach your goals!

When is the Best Time to Post on Social Media?
Digital Marketing Agency Dallas Branding Babe (3).png

I think we all can agree that social media is pretty much taking over the world, right? We no longer simply use social media, we LIVE there. Because of this, social media marketing has become an incredibly powerful tool to increase sales and generate a larger audience for your brand than ever before. Currently Facebook and Instagram are the most popular and through them you can connect with customers, receive feedback, answer questions, promote and advertise your products or services to a large audience in a small amount of time. And the best part of it all? It’s completely free!

However, the question that most people do not even realize that they should be asking is, what time is best to post on social media? Most people don’t even realize that the time of day and the day of the week that you post has a lot to do with whether your post gets the attention you are hoping to get for your brand. According to Sprout Social posting to Instagram for businesses is best on Wednesday’s at 3 pm, Thursday at 5 am, 11 am, between 3-4 pm , and Friday 5 am.

Facebook still reigns as the most popular platform for social media marketing. According to Hootsuite posting on either Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday between 12 pm to 1 pm received the greatest results. This makes sense because 12 to 1 is the time that most people are on their lunch breaks and you know how we love to eat and scroll. Posting on holidays is always a good idea, especially when your post is related to the occasion. It’s also a good idea to post when there are hot topics or breaking news.

No need to post on Sundays. Sundays get the least engagement so save your content for days that are more likely to get more attention.

There truly is an art and science to social media marketing. It can be a little overwhelming in the beginning like all new things are, but once you learn the tips and tricks of the pros you will be growing and thriving on social media with the best of them!

Still feeling like this is all too much? There’s always the option to have Branding Babe manage your social media accounts for you! Schedule a consultation here. Contact us here.

"I like to reinvent myself. It's part of my job." - Karl Lagerfeld

You will hear us here at Branding Babe say this time and time again, “THERE IS NOTHING CONSTANT BUT CHANGE.”. As we the people evolve so does this digital platform we engage on. Likewise, as this platform that we call the internet evolves so do our expectations. We want to be entertained, we want to be inspired, and when we are not we get bored and we move on. That is just the nature of the world we live in today. Now you can either choose to complain about it, wish for the “good ole days”, and stay the same meanwhile being left behind (and more than likely unsuccessful) OR you can allow yourself to be inspired by all the new developments in society and technology. Look at this new digital age as an opportunity to express yourself in ways that you never have before and challenge yourself to evolve and grow with the world. Be inspired babes!

What is Branding?
Branding Babe _ Digital Marketing Dallas, TX.png

What is branding? I recently received a DM from a girl on Instagram asking me to define “branding” and why exactly, was it important for her and the new business that she wants to create. She is not the first person to ask me this question and as I was typing my response to her i realized that there are lots of people out there with dreams and goals of starting a business who don’t realize that it is imperative to have a defined brand identity or brand story when marketing products to consumers.

Branding makes your business recognizable and more trustworthy to consumers. The goal of branding is to make your brand synonymous with whatever product or services that you provide in the mind of a consumer. For example if I was to tell you to close your eyes and think of ice cream more than likely your first thought is of the flavor that you would like, right? But what about your second thought? It was more than likely the brand. If you are a business owner then you should want the same thing for your products and services.

Branding also helps you to recognize and target the consumers who are most likely to relate to your business and in turn convert and purchase whatever it is that you happen to be offering.

Content Is King but Engagement is QUEEN!
Digital Marketing Agency Dallas Branding Babe (4).png

Social media 101, if you want to get your product seen by the digital masses then you have got to post content for the masses to see. You can’t go viral if you don’t post. Pretty obvious, right? Makes perfect sense. You will find article after article saying the same thing and lots of people will read the post, be inspired, and get busy creating and posting blogs and photos about their business. Inevitably after a month or so of posting they begin to get discouraged because their account is still a sad little ghost town and now they feel like social media marketing does not work. This brings us to.. Social media 102, you can’t go viral if no one engages with your post. As a matter of fact the ONLY way to go viral is if a large number of people like, share, and comment on your content. You absolutely have to have engagement. The creators of Facebook, Instagram, Linkedin, and every other social media platform designed their apps with engagement in mind and those who learn how to authentically engage are rewarded with followers, comments, and leads for their business.

Now after reading that and agreeing that the former all makes perfectly good sense I’m sure you are asking yourself, “Well how do I get people to engage with my content?”. After planning, writing, and posting to no avail you will be thrilled at how simple and again obvious the answer is…

Posting on social media and getting no engagement is like throwing a party and no one showing up. But before you feel too sorry for yourself you should ask yourself this question, “Did I invite people to my party?” Well did you? First things first, you have to promote your social media accounts through both organic and paid marketing. I will write more on this in a later post, but for now let’s assume that you already have an audience. Here are 5 ways to engage your followers and be more social on social media:

1) Talk about topics other than your brand. Let your website be your soapbox and your social pages be where you are.. social. Social media is your opportunity to show your brand personality! Talk about trending topics within your niche and ask questions for your audience to answer. Post niche related quotes and add relevant hashtags to your content. Another great idea is to create polls and surveys for your followers. Not only will this encourage engagement and comments but you will also learn something.. you have a ready and willing focus group literally at your fingertips.

2) Reply to comments. It is important for your audience to engage with your brand and it is equally important for your brand to engage with it's audience. If you ask your followers a question take the time to reply to their answers, both compliments as well as complaints. Use your account to display your amazing customer service!

4) Make your page visually appealing. It is extremely important that your feed be aesthetically pleasing and cohesive. The digital space is a highly visual space. Use images and videos. Studies show that people engage with photos and videos up to 80% more than text alone.

4) Don’t be one-sided. share other people's content. Sharing, liking, and commenting on your followers accounts is a great way to connect with your audience and really create a genuine connection. It’s also good to engage with social media accounts that are not currently following you, doing so engages the attention of not only the account that you comment on but it will be seen by all of their followers as well.

5) Hire someone to engage for you. Social media marketing is a full time job. It can be overwhelming to have to manage all your brands social accounts while still managing the day to day operations of your business. If you find that engaging with your audience is just too much and you can not give 100% don’t attempt to do it yourself and do a half ass job. Hire Branding Babe to manage your social media for you. :)

"Your Culture Is Your Brand." - Tony Hsieh

Branding is more than just your logo and color scheme. While visuals and aesthetics do play an important role in creating a cohesive brand story, there are many more important elements that must be taken into account. Think of your brand as it’s own independent entity with it’s own independent personality. Your brand message, web presence, employees, and target audience all come together to create the culture of your brand. Here’s a quick break down..

Every brand has a message whether they are consciously aware of it or not. What is the message that your brand is sending? Even if you think you have no message please trust me, NO MESSAGE IS A MESSAGE.

It’s not only important that your brand has a digital presence but it matters which platforms that you choose to engage on.

Find candidates with personalities that compliment your brand culture. Ideally they should not only be people that bring value to the brand but they should also be individuals that would like and use your services or products as well. Also, it is very important to see the people who work within your company as more then just “employees”. They are your co-creators and members of your mastermind group, treat them as such.

Many people make the mistake of building a product or brand and then setting out to find the customers who would like it. This method is old and outdated. While it seems to make the most sense it is not the most efficient. Your brand is not about you, it’s about your customer. Determine who your target customer is and then build your brand around THEM.

"Content Marketing Is a Commitment Not a Campaign." - Jon Buscall
Digital Marketing Agency Dallas Branding Babe.jpg

You know the people you see in restaurants taking pictures of their food? How about the group of friends at the bar blocking your path to the restroom because they are having an all out photo shoot using nothing more than a cell phone and a selfie light? We have all witnessed the girl at the beach who has turned her boyfriend into her personal photographer. While it can be annoying at times and you may find yourself rolling an eye (or two) the truth is that they have it RIGHT. If you are promoting a business, a service, a product, or a personal brand then this is the level of commitment needed to get yourself seen and promote whatever it is that you have to offer.

I often hear people saying phases like “I miss the good old days when there were no phones” and yada, yada, yada.. The fact is that this is the world that we live in. We are social creatures and moreover than that we are NOSY creatures. We want to share our lives and we want to keep up with the Kardashians. It is up to you to give the people what they want.

Creating great content does not have to be overwhelming. Let Branding Babe do the work for you! Contact us or schedule your consultation here.

What Is Digital Marketing?
Branding Babe Digital Marketing Dallas Logo.png

I am sure that you have heard the term “digital marketing” a few hundred times in the last five to ten years. Even if you have not the slightest clue as to what it means, it’s purpose, or what it entails I can guarantee that you have experienced the fruits of it. It is the reason that you are reading this article right now because you would not have found us without it! So what exactly is digital marketing? Digital marketing is the marketing of businesses, brands, products, or people in the digital space also known as the Internet.

Traditional marketing methods included television & radio commercials, magazine advertisements, and what we now call “snail mail” coupons & ads. Traditional methods were quite effective in their day but times have changed. Netflix and YouTube have replaced television. Podcasts have replaced radio, magazines have turned into websites and blogs, and snail mail was laid to rest by e-mail.

Digital marketing helps brands find their target consumers via search engines, websites, social media, apps, and email. The efforts can be either organic or paid. We will cover this in a later blog post.

According to the 2018 Global Digital suite of reports from We Are Social and Hootsuite there are now more than 4 billion people around the world using the internet. That is more than half of the world’s population! With numbers like that it is only natural that brands and advertisers would flock to the internet to promote their businesses. Ignoring digital marketing is like opening a business and not telling anyone and as ridiculous as that sounds that is the approach a lot of businesses take when it comes to running their business. It’s no wonder that more than half of businesses fail within the first year.

There is nothing constant but change and if you want to be successful you must upgrade your approach and meet your customer where they are.. online!
